Police find gun, knife on man after responding to disturbance at Logboat Brewing

Columbia police arrested Andrew Lawrence on Sunday afternoon after officers were dispatched to Logboat Brewing in reference to a physical disturbance with a weapon.

Police said Lawrence and another man were in a verbal disturbance inside of the business. The victim told officers he tried to end the argument multiple times, but Lawrence kept approaching him in an aggressive manner and kept reaching back toward his waistline.

The victim told police he was scared of Lawrence because he thought he might be armed with a weapon.

Officers found a large knife, a gun, and THC on Lawrence.

Lawrence faces possible charges of unlawful use of a weapon, assault and possession of a controlled substance.
