Rain/ snow mix early Saturday, warming weekend
TONIGHT: Temperatures tonight will drop into the upper 20s by morning as clouds move in from the southwest. Temperatures will start to rise as light snow and rain mix moves in from the southwest to near Truman Reservoir by 5 AM, spreading to the northeast. There could be some slick spots on roads before temperatures climb above freezing, especially bridges and overpasses which will be colder.
SATURDAY: Light snow and rain will spread north to I-70 by 7 AM as temperatures hover near or just above freezing. Roads could be slick in spots, especially bridges and overpasses before temperatures rise into the mid to upper 30s by 10 AM. Little to no snow accumulation is expected and mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. Light rain will gradually end from west to east and we will be dry by early afternoon as the upper level wave moves out of the area. Behind it, temperatures will continue to warm, reaching near 50 west of HWY 63 and mid to upper 40s east as southwest winds increase to 15 mph in the afternoon.
EXTENDED: After dropping to near 30 Saturday night, it will be warmer and mostly sunny Sunday and a nice day to get outdoors as we reach into the lower 60s. It will be breezy Sunday with southerly winds gusting to 25 mph at times. Outdoor burning should be avoided. A better chance of widespread rain moves in Sunday night with increasing showers and t-storms into Monday as temperatures warm into the lower 70s Monday. We’ll have periods of rain through Tuesday morning before colder air moves in for the middle of the week, dropping high temperatures to near 40 Wednesday.
