Galloway begins audit on Osage County government after county receives rating of poor in 2014
Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway announced on Wednesday that her office has begun a regularly scheduled audit of the Osage County government.
The last audit done on the county was in 2014 where it received an overall performance rating of poor.
“This audit will review previous findings to ensure progress has continued while also taking a fresh look at county operations and practices to find any areas where Osage County can make improvements to better serve the public,” Auditor Galloway said. “I encourage residents who have information that may be helpful to contact our Whistleblower Hotline.”
The Auditor’s office recommended in 2014 that the county commission review records of purchases by the road and bridge department, as well as work with the prosecuting attorney to investigate questionable rock purchases, the improper use of a county vehicle, and missing equipment.
