Man charged with running from officers after Jefferson City shooting

A man has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting arrest after he was accused from running from police in December.

According to the probable cause statement, police were dispatched to the 600 block of East Capitol Drive in reference to a weapons offense on Dec. 16.

Police said that the occupants of two vehicles were shooting at one another in the area.

Officers made contact with one of the suspect vehicles.

Police said Tyrone Carr got out of the car and proceeded to run away from the traffic stop. Officers ordered Carr to stop, but he did not comply.

The driver of the car told police that Carr ran because he had a gun on him.

Officers found a pistol on the rear passenger floor board of the car, where Carr was sitting.
