Warmer temperatures through the rest of the workweek

WEDNESDAY: Despite the sunshine this afternoon, it will be a chilly day across Mid-Missouri. Temperatures this afternoon will top out near 30 degrees, with winds out of the northwest anywhere from 8 to 12 mph. It’ll feel even colder outside, as wind chill values will stay in the teens and lower 20s through the day.

TONIGHT: High pressure moves in through the night, which will spell a chilly evening. Lows will bottom out near 15 degrees, with wind chill values near 5, as winds will be out of the southeast up to 9 mph.

EXTENDED: Thursday brings nicer conditions to Mid-Missouri as we warm into the mid and upper 40s. This warming trend will be very short-lived as another system will begin to slowly track into Mid-Missouri by the weekend. A frontal boundary that will be west/east oriented will be slow to move through the region. As it begins to track into Mid-Missouri late Friday into the weekend, we’ll see the potential for some winter weather. It’s looking likely that we’ll see snow north of Interstate 70, with areas south expecting a freezing drizzle eventually changing to snow event. A lot can change between now, but trends are suggesting we’ll have a shot at seeing this. It’ll remain cold this weekend, with temperatures in the upper 20s.
