Justice Department files to revoke naturalization of member of Columbia relief group
The U.S. Justice Department filed to revoke the naturalization of a CEO of a former Columbia based relief group.
In 2004, the FBI raided the headquarters of the Islamic American Relief Agency.
The Justice Department said Mubarak Ahmed Hamed, a native of Sudan, regularly transferred tax-exempt funds from the non-profit’s bank accounts in the U.S. to an account in Jordan.
Investigators believe the funds from the group were used by the Al-Qaeda in a 1998 attack.
