Light snow Tuesday night

TONIGHT: Under partly cloudy skies, temperatures will bottom out near 15 degrees overnight. Winds out of the north up to 10 mph will drop wind chills near 0 for the morning commute.

TUESDAY: Tuesday night will likely be the first widespread accumulating snow across Mid-Missouri. Snow showers will spread from west to east beginning Tuesday afternoon mainly north of I-70 and gradually developing farther south from late afternoon into the evening hours. Snow will move east and end by 4 AM Wednesday. Snowfall amounts are expected to come in anywhere from 1-3 inches of with lighter amounts the further south you go. Isolated spots near I-44 could also see some freezing rain at the onset of the event, with a glaze of ice possible.

EXTENDED: The system will quickly exit by Wednesday morning, but some travel impacts are expected. As always, we will continue to track this storm as it develops and provide you with the latest forecast updates. Skies will clear by Wednesday as high temperatures remain below average in the low 30s. By the end of the work week temperatures will rise back into the 40s, but another cool down is in store for your weekend, also bringing us a slight chance for some active weather.
