Convicted felon charged with attempting to sell “bag full of guns” for bail money
A Boonville man has been charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm after he was accused of trying to sell weapons he was not supposed to have.
According to the probable cause statement, David Grayson was in the Cooper County Jail when he called a friend to sell the guns he had at his residence to raise bail money so he could post his bond.
Police said they searched Grayson’s house on Thursday and found four guns on the property. Officers also found thousands of rounds of ammunition in various calibers for many different guns.
The friend of Grayson admitted to police that he followed Grayson’s instructions and removed “a big army bag full of guns” from the property and sold them.
Grayson is a convicted felon and not allowed to have the weapons.
According to the probable cause statement, Grayson also has a pending criminal case in Saline County for unlawful possession of a firearm and stealing.
Grayson was also charged with tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution.
