Tracking intense heat and few storm chances into the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear, with warm temperatures in the upper 70s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny, with a heat index up to 105 to 110 degrees in the afternoon. Isolated storms are possible, though most remain dry.

EXTENDED: Dangerous heat will continue into the weekend, with the heat index above 100 degrees on Saturday and possibly Sunday. Rain chances remain low, but a few weekend storms are possible. A cold front will finally bring relief and better rain chances by Sunday night into Monday, dropping temperatures into the upper 80s for a few days.
