Columbia police arrest AT&T employee accused of stealing

Columbia police arrested Lawrence Carter on Wednesday afternoon after officers were dispatched to the Columbia Mall for reports of stealing.

Police said an AT&T employee, Carter, was accused of allowing another employee steal two cell phones and two sets of headphones.

Carter was also accused of buying a pair of Apple AirPods earphones, returning them and keeping the cash and the earphones.

Carter faces possible charges of felony stealing.
