Boone County firefighters warn of elevated fire danger

Boone County firefighters warned residents of an elevated fire danger for Thursday and Friday.

Firefighters said outside burning is strongly discouraged because of the warmer temperatures, dry air and vegetation along with wind gusts as high as 35 mph.

Officials ask those who were planning on outside burning to wait until the weekend. If residents can not wait until the weekend to burn, they are asked to pay extra attention to any outside fires.
