Warm Weekend Ends With Storms
TODAY: Clouds will begin to build back into the region throughout the day ahead of our approaching storm system. We look to see the warmest day of the year so far as highs will top out in the upper 50s and low 60s across Mid-Missouri. We will have a slight chance of drizzle again throughout the day as moisture continues to be pumped into the area ahead of this system.
TONIGHT : We’re still tracking this cold front as it makes its way across Mid-Missouri. As it makes it way through, it will trigger a line of thunderstorms and will move east rather quickly. Looks like it will start forming around 9-11pm, and lasting into the overnight hours. Primary threat looks to be damaging wind predominantly with the lack of instability really hindering severe potential.
EXTENDED: Rain will come to and end early on Monday morning before the morning commute. Cooler and much breezier conditions will dominate Monday after the rain moves out. Our high temperatures for Monday will likely occur shortly after midnight, as temperatures will slowly fall into the upper 30s by Monday afternoon. Monday evening, we are tracking the potential for light rain changing over to light snow for the evening commute. Temperatures will be in the middle 30s, so accumulations will be hard to come by. It will also be windy on Monday out of the WSW at 10-20mph, gusting to 30mph at times. Tuesday the sun will return with highs in the low 40s as we begin to rebound throughout remainder of the workweek.
