Man accused of robbing Eldon gas station, assaulting clerk

Eldon police officers arrested a man Saturday after allegedly robbing Brumby’s gas station and assaulting the clerk.

The clerk told officers the suspect stole cigarettes and beer from the gas station. The clerk, who is 38 weeks pregnant, told officers the man assaulted her before leaving the store.

Officers arrested David McCoy on Maple Street after he left the store.

During an interview at the police department, McCoy admitted to assaulting the clerk and robbing the store.

McCoy was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery. He’s being held on a $250,000 bond.

The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
