Greitens continues to deny blackmail allegations, “has no plans to resign.”
Gov. Eric Greitens again says there was “no blackmail” and that he posed “no threat of violence” to the women with which he had an extramarital affair before taking office.
Greitens told the Associated Press the accusations of him threatening to blackmail a former hairdresser with a naked photo are false, and that the months-long “consensual relationship” was a “personal mistake.” He also said he has not had any other extramarital affairs.
On Saturday, the governor was in Jefferson City but was absent from the list of speakers for the Missouri Republican State Committee’s rally that took place at the Missouri State Capitol.
Shortly after the allegations first surfaced, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce removed the image of Greitens from one of their ads.
