Gov. Greitens’ personal attorney claims he will “continue to serve as governor”

There’s much speculation today at the Capitol about the possibility of Gov. Greitens resigning.

After the State of the State address on Jan. 10, news broke of an extramarital affair Gov. Greitens had before he took office in 2015. Gov. Greitens is facing blackmail allegations, along with numerous calls to resign.

ABC 17 News reached out to Gov. Greitens’ personal attorney, Jim Bennett, after hearing that the governor may resign Friday.

Jim Bennett sent ABC 17 the following statement:

“There is zero truth to any suggestion that Gov. Greitens is resigning. He is at work today and will continue to serve as governor.”
