Eldon man indicted for child sex crimes

Timothy Garrison, United States Attorney Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced on Thursday that James Guthrie was indicted for enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity and attempting to produce child pornography.

The charges accused Guthrie of using the internet and a cell phone to entice a child, between the ages of 12-16, in North Carolina to engage in illicit sexual activity from December 2015 to December 2017.

Guthrie was also charged with attempting to produce child pornography on Dec. 18.

Guthrie is currently in the Cole County Jail.
