Mizzou beats No. 21 Tennessee at home

The Mizzou basketball team beat No. 21 Tennessee 59-55 on Wednesday night at Mizzou Arena. It’s the Tigers first win against a ranked opponent since December 7, 2013 when MU beat No. 18 UCLA. Before tonight, MU had lost 19 straight games against ranked opponents. Mizzou is now 13-5 and 3-2 in the SEC.

Junior Kevin Puryear finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Jontay Porter had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Mizzou was just 4-18 from three-point range and 20-48 from the field, but the Tigers were still able to pull out the win. Mizzou did shoot 15-17 from the free throw line.

Meanwhile, MU held Tennessee to 39 percent shooting from the field and 24 percent shooting from three-point range.

Up next, Mizzou will play Texas A&M on the road on Saturday at 3 p.m.

We will update this story with full highlights and reaction from the Tigers as soon as possible.
