Icy roads to blame for fatal crash involving a train
Troopers responded to the Dade-177 mile marker on Tuesday afternoon for a vehicle collision involving a train.
According to the crash report, the crash happened when a Chevrolet pickup approached the tracks on a snow covered roadway and started sliding. The truck did not stop and crossed into the path of a train.
Troopers said the train was using its horn to signal its approach.
The pickup’s driver, Bob Bishop, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The truck was totaled and the train had minor damage.
