Galloway begins audit on Cole County city after citizens request review

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway announced on Tuesday that her office had started to work on an audit for the village of Centertown, located in Cole County.

Galloway said the audit was requested by the city through a petition process. The petition required at least 52 signatures from the city that has a population of less than 300.

“When citizens are engaged, the process works to improve government operations,” Galloway said. “I look forward to conducting this independent review, and I encourage those with information to contact my whistleblower hotline.”

Individuals with information related to the audit are asked to contact the hotline by calling 800-347-8597, by emailing moaudit@auditor.mo.gov, or by using the online submission form.
