Boonville man accused of hitting two police officers
A Boonville man has been charged with assault after officers were dispatched to Lakeview Health Care in reference to a resident assaulting another man.
According to the probable cause statement, Elroy Hunter hit a victim in the head approximately five or six times.
Hunter told officers, “Ya’ll gonna lock me up, I am ready to go to jail.”
Police said Hunter struck one officer on the left ear with his right hand.
According to the probable cause statement, Hunter was also accused of punching a corporal with the police department twice in the arm a few days before.
Officers said Hunter has a history of assaulting other residents of the health care facility.
