UPDATE: Police arrest man and woman after Eastwood Drive shooting

UPDATE 1/12, 3:15 p.m.: Brown and Ford have both been charged with armed criminal action, assault and kidnapping.

According to court records, both are being held without bond because they are a “threat to the victim and public safety.”

UPDATE 1/12: Columbia police confirm they have arrested a man and woman in connection with a shooting on Eastwood Drive Thursday.

Police say they’ve booked 24-year-old Jasmine Ford and 31-year-old Barry Ronell Brown II in jail on suspicion of armed criminal action, assault, kidnapping and unlawful use of weapons.

Officers say the victim told them Brown offered her money to perform a sexual act and then assaulted her when she refused. Ford was also allegedly there at the time, but the victim says it was Brown who shot her.

Formal charges were still pending Friday morning.

UPDATE 11:30 am: Columbia police confirmed they have identified a person of interest in the shooting but the investigation is on-going.

Officers also said the 31-year-old female victim is in stable condition after receiving life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police ask if anyone knows information about the shooting to call the police department at (573) 874-7652 or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS.

UPDATE: As of 9:30 a.m. Columbia police were still on scene investigating the shooting.

ABC 17 News was able to speak with a resident who said the woman arrived at his apartment after knocking on his window.

The resident, an Air Force veteran, told ABC 17 News the woman had multiple gunshot wounds.

ABC 17 News had emailed the police department for an update on her condition, we are still waiting to hear back.

ORIGINAL: Columbia police have confirmed a woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot Thursday morning. Police responded to the 2600 block of Eastwood Drive after 1 Thursday morning for reports of shots fired.

Officers tell ABC 17 News no one is in custody and they have no suspects at this time.
