Search for driver continues after hit-and-run crash on Clark Lane

Columbia police are still investigating who drove away from the Tiger Stop convenience store on Clark Lane after injuring a pedestrian.

On Jan. 5 Mike Vencl was walking out of the store to his car when he says he was struck by a silver vehicle. Vencl said driver did not stop before leaving the area.

Vencl was left with cuts on his hand and knuckles, as well as abrasions on his knees, according to police.

A witness told ABC 17 News the driver of the four-door silver car was moving at excessive speeds, up to 20 miles per hour, around the gas station area.

They also said the driver did not show any intent of slowing down or stopping before exiting the area.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact the Columbia Police Department.
