Jefferson City police arrest man accused of strangling woman, threatening another

Jefferson City police arrested Aaron Strickland on Saturday after officers responded to a possible assault in the 500 block of East Capitol Avenue.

According to the probable cause statement, Strickland and a woman were arguing when Strickland began choking her. He stopped when another woman arrived at the residence and threatened to call 911.

The second woman said she was threatened by Strickland, who said he was going to kick her teeth in if she called the police. She told officers that she felt her life was in danger.

The second woman was able to escape the residence and call police.

Police said when they arrived on scene, Strickland would not let them inside. Officers forced entry into the apartment and Strickland began to fight with them as they tried to arrest him.

Officers said they noticed red marks on the neck of the first victim.

Strickland was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest.
