UPDATE: Driver identified in Saturday chase on I-70

UPDATE (1/7): The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the driver involved in Saturday’s pursuit on I-70.

Troopers arrested Neal Chase, 51, of Ft. Collins, Colorado Saturday afternoon. He was arrested on suspicion of second degree assault with a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and speeding.

ORIGINAL: One person is in custody after fleeing from Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Scott White said troopers tried to pull over a driver for speeding going eastbound on I-70 near the Stadium Boulevard exit around 4:20 p.m.

White said the driver did not stop and hit another car on the interstate. The suspect lost a tire and another went flat as he continued to drive down I-70.

The suspect eventually stopped just past the Lake of the Woods exit and was taken into custody.

White said the driver of the car that was hit by the suspect suffered minor injuries.
