Mizzou guard Blake Harris will transfer from the program a team spokesperson confirms today.

The freshman guard is the second player to transfer in less than a week after CJ Roberts transferred Wednesday.

Harris started nine games for the Tigers averaging just under 14 minutes per game. He averaged 3.8 points per game and 3.1 assists. Harris did not start Mizzou’s most recent game against South Carolina after Martin said Harris had been battling the flu.

In a statement, Mizzou basketball coach Cuonzo Martin said, “Blake Harris has decided to transfer from the Mizzou men’s basketball program. We will support and assist him in any way possible.”

There is no indication where Harris will transfer to at this time. The Tigers are not placing any restrictions on where he can or can not transfer to. Harris will be eligible to play following the fall semester of 2018.

Harris first was tied to Michael Porter Jr.’s commitment. The four-star guard from Chapel Hill, NC first decided to commit to Washington with Porter last year. He then decommitted when Porter decided to decommit after Washington fired its coach Lorenzo Romar.

Porter committed to Mizzou in late March while Harris committed about two weeks after that in April.

Mizzou now has four guards on scholarship left on the roster including Cullen Van Leer, Jordan Geist, Kassius Robertson and Terrence Phillips. The Tigers have another four-star guard from St. Louis, Torrence Watson, signed for 2018.

The Tigers are 11-3 and look for their second SEC win Saturday, Jan. 6 against Florida.
