Columbia police ask for public’s help in identifying possible shoplifting suspect

Columbia police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman accused of shoplifting at JC Penny’s.

Police said that the woman took Nike clothing items into a changing room. The woman exited the room and left the store with the clothes hidden in her purse.

Officers said surveillance footage showed the suspect entered a white Chevrolet Malibu with an Illinois temporary tag.

Police ask if anyone recognizes the woman or the vehicle call CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
