Moberly police will offer rides home to residents on New Year’s Eve

Moberly police announced on Thursday that officers will be providing rides home for intoxicated residents on New Year’s Eve.

Police said the rides will be provided to those who are unable to drive and residents will be searched before entering the officer’s vehicle.

Officers also said they will be looking for impaired drivers and taking appropriate actions on New Year’s Eve.

Police ask residents who do need a ride home to call the business phone at (660) 263-0346 and to not call 911.

The forecast for New Year’s Eve is calling for extremely cold temperatures. Police ask residents to plan ahead and pack extra coats and blankets into the car in case of the vehicle breaking down.
