Jefferson City inmate dies of apparent natural causes

Missouri Department of Corrections announced that inmate Jose Drew, 58, was pronounced dead at the Jefferson City Correctional Center on Wednesday afternoon.

Drew was from Jackson County and was serving life without parole for first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Drew had been an inmate since Aug. 16, 1982.

Officials said Drew died of apparent natural causes.
