Bitterly cold weather to continue for Wednesday
TODAY: You’ll want to bundle up as you head outside this afternoon, because even with sunshine today, temperatures will only climb into the mid teens. With winds out of the northeast up to 10 mph, it will make make the wind chill feel more like the single digits into the afternoon. With increasing clouds tracking in from the northwest through the day, we could see a few stray snowflakes.
TONIGHT: It’ll be another cold and cloud night across Mid-Missouri. Temperatures will bottom out near 10 degrees across the region, with easterly winds up to 12 mph, making it feel like 7 below for most of the night.
EXTENDED: We’ll stay cold Thursday with highs only in the low to mid 20s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Friday will be the “warmer” day as we reach the upper 20s. There is a slight chance of light snow north of I-70 Friday afternoon with little to no accumulation. Another surge of arctic air moves in for the weekend, keeping us in the teens for highs with nights dropping to near zero. There is a slight chance of snow Saturday afternoon and night but confidence is still low in this. We will continue to watch the trends and will have the newest forecast on ABC17 News and right here.
