Trial date set for CPOA lawsuit against city of Columbia

A lawsuit by the Columbia Police Officers Association against the city of Columbia will head to trial next year.

On Monday, ABC 17 News confirmed Judge Brouck Jacobs set a trial date of March 15.

The CPOA filed the lawsuit in 2016 after it said the police department violated Missouri’s Sunshine Law.

According to court documents, the police department is accused of not turning over documents and also charging large amounts of money to obtain records.
