Three people hurt in Jefferson City crash

Three people were injured after a two car crash in Jefferson City Wednesday night.

It happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Missouri Boulevard and South Ten Mile Drive, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.

The driver of a van, Michael Christian, crossed the path of an oncoming pickup truck while turning left onto Missouri Boulevard, according to police. That is when the driver of the truck, Richard Bainer, crashed into the van, police said.

Three passengers in the van were hurt. Two of them, Patricia Sipes and Joyce Brockes, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Officers shut down both eastbound lanes at the intersection and routed traffic through the nearby parking lot of Capital City Chrysler for about 45 minutes while emergency crews worked the scene. One westbound lane was shut down during that time as well.
