Boone County emergency crews respond to six crashes in two hours

UPDATE, 6:44 P.M.: The crash has been cleared.

UPDATE, 6:30 P.M.: A crash that happened more than an hour ago at Providence Road and Mick Deaver Drive still has traffic moving at a slow pace. Drivers are encourage to avoid the area.

ORIGINAL: Emergency crews responded to six crashes in two hours on Wednesday evening.

Boone County Joint Communication alerted drivers of the multiple crashes and asked drivers to drive safely if they approach a scene.

ABC17 has crews around Columbia gathering information about the crashes.

As of 6 pm, three crashes were still active on Broadway and on Providence.

Boone County Joint Communications also said there was traffic congestion in the area of Providence Road from Broadway to Mick Deaver because of the crashes.
