Battle High School student arrested, accused of bringing drugs and “knuckles” to school

Columbia police arrested Jakson Hewett-Jones on Thursday morning at Battle High School.

According to the probable cause statement, school staff smelled a controlled substance on Jones and called police.

Officers said school staff found a small amount of a “green, leafy substance” and a set of “knuckles.”

Police said the “knuckles” are considered a class E felony because Jones brought them to school.

Jones was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
