Firefighters respond to structure fire in Prathersville

UPDATE 1:30 pm: A spokesperson for the Boone County Fire Department said firefighters had the small fire contained to the attic.

ORIGINAL: Boone County firefighters responded to the 6200 block of East Circle Drive in Prathersville on Thursday afternoon for a structure fire.

According to public dispatch records, more than 9 emergency units responded to the scene.

Boone County Emergency Management alerted drivers there is a lot of traffic congestion near Farrar and East Circle Drive north due to the fire.

Drivers are asked to use an alternate route.

ABC17 is currently talking with authorities to learn more about the fire.
