Columbia man arrested after being charged with DWI that caused physical injury
A man is currently in the Boone County Jail after he was charged with a DWI that caused a physical injury after a September crash.
According to the probable cause statement, troopers responded to the crash on Route VV and saw a white Cadillac off the west side of the roadway.
Troopers said Michael Baroli admitted to being the driver, but then changed his story and said his wife was driving.
Officers said they noticed Baroli’s pupils were constricted and he admitted to taking Suboxone before leaving his house. Baroli continued to deny driving the car, troopers said.
A witness told officers that they saw a man in the driver’s seat and a female in the passenger’s seat right after the crash.
According to the probable cause statement, Baroli’s driver’s license is suspended.
Baroli’s bond is set at $100,000.
