UPDATE 12/1: Moss was arrested on Thursday afternoon for a felony warrant on the original charged of child molestation in the second degree.
Moss is currently in the Boone County Jail with a bond of $100,000.
ORIGINAL STORY: A convicted sex offender has been charged with child molestation after police responded to the 300 block of Moore Walkway for reports of statutory rape.
According to the probable cause statement, the victim had fallen asleep on her friend’s bed. When she woke up, her pants were pulled down and saw Samuel Moss sexually assaulting her.
The victim told police she tried to tell Moss no but he continued to rape her.
According to the probable cause statement, Moss is a registered sex offender but it is unknown where Moss is living.
Police said back in 2015 they responded to Woodmore Court after a woman claimed she was sleeping in her room, when she woke up to pressure in the area of her vagina.
The victim told police she became startled and Moss ran out of the bedroom.
According to the probable cause statement, the victim is afraid of her safety because she was told Moss carries a weapon and is believed to be a member of some gangs in the Columbia area.
