Fulton man charged with resisting and interfering arrest after a car chase and foot pursuit

A Fulton man was charged with delivery of marijuana, resisting and interfering with arrest and possession of marijuana after leading Fulton police on a car chase and foot pursuit.

According to the probable cause statement, an officer was pulling into Carver Park when he noticed a few cars involved in a drug transaction.

Police said they watched as one man gave Ladeigh Cowans money in exchange for drugs.

Officers said they attempted to arrest Cowans, but he got in his car and took off, failing to yield to multiple stop signs.

Police said at one point, the chase got up to 65 mph on a 30 mph city street.

Officers said when the chase turned onto Jefferson and 7th Street, Cowans got out of the vehicle, left the door open and the vehicle running and took off running east on 7th Street.
