Walmart employee charged with stealing, accused of voiding scanned items for repeat customers
A Columbia woman was charged with stealing more than $750 after police were called to Walmart for reports of theft.
Walmart’s asset protection manager reported that 23-year-old Raven Sharp, a cashier, had been stealing from the store for more than a month.
The manager told police that Sharp would not scan items or void scanned items and then let several repeat customers take the items for free.
Police said the manager reported 22 separate incidents, which resulted in a loss of more than $2,600.
The manager said the items stolen ranged from food to clothing and groceries.
Police said when Sharp was questioned, she admitted to the allegations.
