Callaway County deputies respond to high school; juvenile accused of assaulting administrator

Callaway County deputies responded to the South Callaway High School on Friday morning after officers were dispatched to a juvenile-related matter.

Deputies said the investigation revealed a 15-year-old possessed a small knife and had displayed it toward a school staff member.

Officers said the juvenile physically assaulted a school administrator without using the knife. The juvenile was not in the immediate presence of other students on campus when the events happened, deputies said.

Officers said the juvenile resisted arrest and assaulted two deputies before being taken into custody.

Deputies said the child was taken to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and was released to the custody of the Callaway County Juvenile Office with referred charges of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, resisting arrest and assault.

Officers said the investigation is ongoing.
