UPDATE: Lake Ozark police confirm arrest of shooting suspect
UPDATE 11/9 12:15 pm: Lake Ozark police held a press conference about the shooting on Thursday afternoon.
Police said they were familiar with Sweet after having a few run-ins with the man prior to the shooting.
Officers said the investigation is ongoing and are looking into many more leads. Police except the investigation to continue for at least the next few days.
UPDATE 11/9 8:00 a.m.: Miller County Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Winfrey has confirmed Gary Sweet of Rolla has been charged with murder in connection with the murder investigation at Riverview RV Park.
Lake Ozark police shared Winfrey’s Facebook post on their page.
According to the post, Winfrey was charged on Nov. 8 with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action.
Winfrey wrote Sweet is charged with the murder for “knowingly causing the death” of two Lake Ozark residents with “deliberation” by shooting them.
The assault charges, Winfrey wrote, are from Sweet allegedly “attempting to kill or cause serious physical injury” to two other Lake Ozark residents by shooting them or shooting at them.
The four armed criminal action charges were brought forward because Sweet allegedly committed the murders and assaults with a gun.
All the charged conduct allegedly took place on Woodriver Road, in Lake Ozark, Missouri on or about November 7.
UPDATE 11/9 – 12:00 a.m.: The official Facebook page of the Lake Ozark Police Department shared a link to a news article that reported 58-year-old Gary Sweet has been arrested in connection with a Wednesday shooting at Riverview RV Park.
The article reports that the Rolla man has been charged with charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
ABC 17 News is working to confirm the arrest and the charges and has placed calls to the police department, sheriff’s office and Phelps County court.

UPDATE 10:10 p.m.: A woman who identified herself as family told ABC 17 News the victims are Jim and Sheri Parker, employees at the Riverview RV Park. Police have not confirmed this.
Several residents of the park also told ABC 17 News that the Parkers were killed in the Wednesday shooting. Many described them as caring managers of the park and friends.
UPDATE 9 p.m.: Crime scene tape covered parts of the Riverview RV Park well into the night Wednesday.
Lake Ozark Police kept tight-lipped on the details, but confirmed they were investigating a shooting at the location that happened sometime in the early morning hours.
Some residents told ABC 17 News they were woken up by law enforcement scouring the place early Wednesday.
Police have not confirmed who the victims are from the shooting, but several people at the RV park told ABC 17 News those shot were employees of the park.
UPDATE 2:40 p.m.: Lake Ozark police confirm there was a shooting at the RV park sometime in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
ORIGINAL:Crime scene tape is blocking off access to Riverview RV Park near the Lake of the Ozarks.
Miller County deputies and other emergency crews are on scene.
ABC17 crews are on scene talking with officials about the large law enforcement presence.
