Emergency crews respond to car crash on Forum Boulevard near Nifong

UPDATE 1:45 pm: Police said the crash happened when the driver had a medical emergency, causing him to veer off to the left.

The car left the roadway and into the parking lot of Boone Medical Group.

The car crashed into six parked vehicles, police said.

The driver, Christopher Wise, 42, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

UPDATE 10:02 am: Police said the crash happened when a person driving one car crashed into five others in the Boone Hospital parking lot.

The driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Police said the other five vehicles were unattended and no one else was hurt.

ORIGINAL: Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision on Forum Boulevard near Nifong on Wednesday morning.

According to public dispatch, more than 5 emergency crews responded to the scene just before 9 a.m.

Boone County Joint Communications said to use caution in the area and avoid it if possible.
