Columbia police arrest man accused of hitting woman, driving car through garage door

Columbia police arrested David Maupins on Sunday night after officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Hanover Boulevard in reference to a disturbance.

Police said Maupins slapped and punched a female victim in the face and hit her with a tripod on the side of her head.

Officers said Maupins fled from the residence and drove his vehicle through the garage door without opening it.

Maupins was arrested and faces possible charges of domestic assault and property damage.
