Arrest confirmed in Columbia weekend stabbing
Columbia police have confirmed officers arrested Frank Benedetti in connection with a stabbing that sent two men to the hospital.
ABC 17 News first reported Benedetti’s possible connection to the stabbing Sunday morning.
Police say the investigation revealed Benedetti and the two men were in a physical altercation in the 3700 block of Pimlico Drive.
Benedetti allegedly used a “cutting instrument” in the fight that caused serious injuries to the victims, both 24 years old. One of the men had cuts on his arm and lower back. The other victim had cuts on his abdomen. The men were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Benedetti was arrested Saturday night and charged with two counts of assault. As of 9:30 a.m., Benedetti was still in the Boone Council Jail with a $200,000 bond.
