On and off showers into the weekend
TODAY: Low clouds will be stubborn, clearing briefly in the afternoon mainly south of I-70. It will be warmer with high temperatures reaching the mid 60s north of I-70 and lower 70s south. Winds will come in from the south up to 9 mph, transitioning to the northwest late in the day as a cold front moves through. There is a chance of spot showers in the afternoon and early evening.
TONIGHT: Temperatures tonight will drop back into the mid 40s for our southern counties and the upper 30s for our northern counties under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will remain fairly persistent out of the north near 7 mph. We will begin to see clouds break up briefly from north to south through the overnight hours as the cold front pushes to the southeast.
EXTENDED: Cooler air settles in briefly on Friday with high temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Skies will become partly cloudy before more clouds move in with a chance of showers overnight into Saturday morning as another warm front moves through. The best chance of showers Saturday morning is north of I-70. We’ll warm back up Saturday with high temperatures reaching the upper 60s to 70 under mostly cloudy skies. Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend as southerly winds increase to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph, bringing temperatures up into the upper 70s to near 80 before another cold front moves in. Sunday looks to see a few breaks in the clouds. This will bring a slight thunderstorm chance in the afternoon and evening Sunday, with a rain chance Sunday night into Monday.
