Columbia police arrest man after finding him asleep in stolen vehicle

Columbia police arrested Dennis Whitehead on Saturday night after officers found Whitehead sleeping in the drivers seat of a stolen vehicle, with the engine running.

Police said they found a marijuana pipe with residue located in the car.

Officers said they searched Whitehead and found a stolen check that was reported stolen by the same victim that reported their vehicle missing.

Police said they also found a checkbook and passport that had also been reported stolen.

Whitehead was arrested and faces possible charges of stealing, tampering, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
