UPDATE: Shooting at Casey’s on Clark Lane leaves damage to gas pump, vehicle
UPDATE 10:52 A.M.: According to an official press release, officers found multiple shell casings in the area.
A silver vehicle reportedly approached another vehicle in the parking lot of Casey’s. The occupant(s) of the silver vehicle fired rounds at the other vehicle.
The release states that it is unclear at this time if the occupant(s) of the other vehicle fired back.
Both vehicles fled the area in opposite directions.
Officers found damage to a plastic piece on a gas pump on the lot, as well as damage to a bystander’s vehicle that was parked on the lot.
ORIGINAL STORY: Crime scene tape has been put up by police officers at Casey’s General Store on Clark Lane in Columbia.
The Columbia Police Department was called to the scene because of reports of shots heard.
ABC 17 confirmed that a red car and silver car were reportedly involved in the shooting. One car was shooting with a rifle. There are no signs of an injury, but shell casings were found. The side of a gas pump was struck, but caused no significant damage.
As of 10:00 a.m., the store was still open. There are no suspects at this time, and police are continuing to investigate.
