Sedalia woman charged with stealing, accused of stealing multiple cellphones from Boost Mobile

A Sedalia woman is being charged with stealing more than $750 after police received three theft reports from Boost Mobile.

According to the probable cause statement, the store manager reported missing a deposit in the amount of $761, $95 missing from a change bag and $105 missing from a spare register drawer.

Police filed a second report from the same store after $525.74 was missing from the register.

In the third report, the manager reported that 22 cellphones were missing, with a total value of $4,059.

Police said it was later determined that only 19 cellphones were missing, with a total value of $3,749, but there were also cellphone accessories missing that totaled up to be $3,097.

Police said the three cases all had the same suspect of Patricia Mabry, who was a prior shift leader at the store.

Police made contact with Mabry and asked her about the missing deposits.

Mabry acknowledged that she was responsible for making the deposits, but denied knowing what happened to them or why her drawer was short one day, police said.

Officers said in regards to the missing phones, Mabry claimed she would swap out a phone for free when a customer’s phone was not working correctly.

After talking with Mabry, police arrested her for stealing.
