Man charged with assault, accused of failing to yield to a deputy, causing crash

A Miller County man is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and armed criminal action after he failed to yield to multiple police officers.

According to the probable cause statement, Miller County deputies were advised of a pursuit from Pulaski County entering into Miller County.

Crocker police had been previously been in pursuit with Gerald Farrow, but had lost him.

Miller County deputies saw Farrow’s car going north bound on Martin Road at a high rate of speed.

Deputies said they turned on their emergency lights and followed Farrow, but he failed to yield.

During the chase, one deputy said he saw Farrow’s car fishtail, leave the roadway and strike a tree with the driver’s side bed.

The deputy said he thought the chase was done but Gerald’s truck drove off from the crash scene, and began dragging what appeared to be a floor jack from the bed of the truck, on the ground.

On Colvin Loop Road, the deputy said the Farrow’s car got out of his sight until he took a turn.

The deputy said during the turn he had to slam on his brakes, loosing traction of his car and striking a tree head-on.

The deputy said he had to be transported to Lake Regional Hospital for injuries to his feet, knees, abdomen, chest, back, neck and head.

Farrow was charged with armed criminal action because he had a large knife in his vehicle that was readily accessible.

As of Thursday, Farrow is out of custody.
