Missouri Department of Agriculture receives high volume of complaints over dicamba

The Missouri Department of Agriculture said it is still receiving a high volume of complaints over dicamba from farmers who say the chemical is ruining their crops.

Dicamba is a chemical designed to kill broadleaf weeds but it can drift into crops that are not dicamba-resistant.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture received more than 310 complaints about the chemical this year, the highest number in years.

A majority of the complaints came from farmers in southeastern Missouri who believe the chemical ruined their soybean fields.

Missouri temporarily banned the chemical in July, but the ban was lifted within a week and restrictions were placed on the use of dicamba.
