Columbia police investigate armed robbery in Northeast Columbia

Columbia police are investigating an armed robbery that happened on Sunday in the 2100 block of Pleasant Way.

Police said the investigation revealed a pizza delivery driver was delivering to a residence in the area when four to five suspects approached him.

Officers said one of the suspects had a gun and threatened the delivery driver with it.

Police said the suspects got an undisclosed amount of money from the victim before running away from the area.

Officers said the victim was not injured during the incident.

Police said they got information that a possible suspect was at a residence in the area.

Officers said they were able to make contact with two suspects who were detained but then released.

The investigation is on-going, police said.
